Ruins of St. Paul's



       Ruins of St. Paul's is one example of the amazing structure in the world. The Ruins of St. Paul also known as Sam Ba Sing Tzik located adjacent to the famous Mount Fortress and Macau Museum. This church had experienced several times of disaster, so until now all that remains is the front façade and a large staircase.
       The church was built in 1580 by the Jesuits. However, in 1595 and 1601 the church was on fire. Then
had reconstruction in 1602 In 1637, this church was crowned as the largest Catholic church in East Asia. But unexpectedly, in 1835, the unrest sweeping Macau, the Church burned for the third time, and leaving only the front facade and a large staircase. Currently Ruins of St. Paul's crowned as a historical site by the UNESCO. Historically, Ruins of St. Paul's built with white stones, had a grand vaulted roof. It had three magnificently decorated halls. This church also has a classic oriental characteristics. Each sculpture and carvings on the walls of the church have the meaning respectively.
      At this time, the Ruins of St. Paul's became the best tourist attraction in Macau. Lots of tourist who visit just to take pictures in front of the church. In addition to a very interesting history, Ruins of St.Pauls located in city center of Macau so it is very easy to get to that place. The area around the church was established markets, both to sell clothing, food and souvenirs of Macau.
